Timberlost Farm is located in north central Massachusetts in the rural town of Asburnham. Nestled in the Worcester Hills and the Monadonocks, Ashburnham boasts seven lakes and is the headwaters of the Nashua, Millers and Souhegan Rivers. Timberlost Farm is a family owned farm specializing in Hereford and Hereford Cross Beef cattle raised on our lush green hillside pastures. We transformed this dairy farm to a beef operation in 1976. Our herd of cattle is pasture raised on our property. They receive the best of care; no hormones or additives are utilized – our beef is all natural. Rotational grazing allows us to raise choice beef. If you want to know where your beef came from; we are the farm for you. Beef is typically sold as halves and quarters throughout the year (beef eighteen – twenty months old). Please contact us if you are interested ASAP. Quarter and halves are reserved on a first come first serve basis; deposit of $200 per half and $100 per quarter is required to reserve your beef. Full payment is due upon pick-up of beef from our farm.
All halves are processed according to your preference (see beef tab for complete list of beef options available). You select the thickness of your steaks as well as the poundage of your roasts. Beef is double-wrapped for longevity in your freezer. For 2023, our prices are as follows: A side of beef (half) is priced at $4.60 per pound hanging weight plus a $475 processing fee. Halves typically cost between $1900 - $2350 (depending on weight) and yield 200 – 240 pounds of beef in your freezer. A side of beef requires a chest or upright freezer. Quarters (half of a side of beef) are priced at $4.75 per pound hanging weight plus a $240 processing fee. A quarter typically costs between $950 - $1200, and yields 100 - 120 pounds of beef.
